Minnesota MATHCounts Coach Jack Faillor from Kellogg Middle School shared, "Minnesota just found out the results! We placed 4th Place out of 56 teams in the national MATHCounts competition! I am very proud of the team effort, which shows that Minnesota can compete with the best mathematicians nationwide. As a result, we also won Most Improved State and got recognized in front of the countdown round. As an Individual, Eric, from Kellogg Middle School, took 5th Place in the written round!" Coach Jack Faillor and Eric participated in the MN MATHCounts afterschool program through Rochester Community Education. Congratulations on your accomplishments!

Special shout out to parents who helped make all this happen behind the scenes. The event was organized by Coach Chris, our outstanding Equity Specialist.

Our 8th graders will be building Rube Goldberg machines in the upcoming weeks. If you have any of the following materials laying around the house that you wouldn't mind us using, please send them with your student. Ideas include: small cardboard boxes (cereal or shoe), tubes (paper towel or TP), disposable cups, plastic bottles, building blocks, wooden dowels, craft supplies of any kind, dominoes, toy pieces, a variety of balls (ping pong, tennis, marbles, etc), really anything you think might work! Thank you in advance!
