About Our Community Partnerships

Community partners are vital to supporting Rochester Public Schools' strategic plan and districtwide change initiatives. By focusing our efforts on strategic partners, we maximize the positive impact on both the partner and RPS students, families, and staff.

Our Partnerships at Work

Students observing a pussy willow tree at Quarry Hill Nature Center

Quarry Hill Nature Center

Every RPS student kindergarten through 7th participates in the Quarry Hill program. This totals 9,797 students. Kindergarten – 5th grade students visit Quarry Hill twice a year. For students in grades 6 & 7, Quarry Hill staff visit the school site to deliver a science lab over the course of two days.

Red Barn Learning Farm at JMHS

Bridge Collaborative

One of the projects that has directly impacted Rochester Public School students this year is the "Rocket Boost at John Marshall (JM) High School." This program takes place over lunch periods and has an ongoing initiative to support mental health and increase a sense of belonging at their school. One example is the Red Barn Learning Farm petting zoo JM hosted in the fall of 2023.

MN College Possible Students at Gustavus Adolphus College

College Possible

On March 15, College Possible Minnesota and Rochester Public Schools signed a new Navigate partnership which offers free, personalized support to a group of MNSync Online students. This program supports students in gaining access to postsecondary education pathways through researching best-fit colleges, identifying funding sources, and supplying resources to help students thrive as they pursue degree completion.
